Pittsworth Landcare & Mt Tyson District Landcare Group
Pittsworth Landcare and Mt Tyson District Landcare Group is a dynamic group of farmers, graziers and people who have a passion for the land, who recognise the need to collectively tackle land management issues. Having formed in May 1989, the groups prime focus is to ensure long term quality production over the whole catchment and share up to date information with the wider community about sustainable farming methods.
We believe we deliver our objective successfully. We welcome you to our website and look forward to showing all our visitors the many innovative and educational incentives that we have achieved over the years as well as upcoming projects.

NEWSFLASH
Each year, Pittsworth Landcare holds an information packed Landcare Awareness Day to give people of all ages an opportunity to learn about Landcare, what we do and how anyone can be involved. Many of our members are farmers and will be happy to help you to identify a weed or talk about soil types, growing plants or animal husbandry.
The action happens at Bunnings Warehouse in Anzac Avenue, Toowoomba on Saturday, 5th November from 9.00am until 3.00pm. Members of the Drayton Country Lions Club will join with Pittsworth and Mt Tyson Landcare members for a memorable day of sharing yarns, enjoying the sausage sizzle and learning about Landcare.
We are very fortunate to have Rod the Ranger from Qld Parks and Wildlife along to answer questions about wildlife. Rod will be bringing along an endangered Grassland Earless Dragon, a tiny lizard thought to be extinct but rediscovered in our Darling Downs farming land. Kathy and her daughter Gidget kindly bring along their tame bearded dragons which have proved to be a big hit with young and old.

There will be DIY classes in nest box making for the kids (commencing at 10.00am) and the rest of the family can learn how to make their gardens waterwise and what types of native plants will encourage the birds into the garden.
There is lots of free information to give away and White Mischief's famous chocolate dragons will be available to purchase - a great Christmas stocking filler (if you can wait that long!).
Become a member of Pittsworth Landcare today (a family membership costs only $11.00 per year) and be in the draw for a SPECIAL MEMBERS PRIZE to be drawn at 3.00pm on the day.
Come along and support your local Landcare group and a enjoy a great day out.
